Our co-founder, Ray Shotwell, is renowned for his steadfast guidance of Southeast Texas families and communities during their most challenging times. With over 50 years in funeral services, Ray observed a growing demand for change. He recognized that an online service could offer the ease and affordability that traditional funeral homes could not. Upon selling his crematorium and entering "retirement," Ray established Birdsong Cremations. Our direct cremation services combines the latest technology with enduring compassion and quality cremation services, proudly supported by Texas families.

Since becoming the FDIC at Birdsong Cremations in June 2023, Robin Kimberley Roden has been instrumental in Birdsong Cremations significant growth and success. A 4th Generation Licensed Funeral Director from Paris, Texas, Robin's deep-rooted passion for the funeral service industry and her extensive experience have greatly contributed to our organization. Her academic achievements include Summa Cum Laude honors from Amarillo College and Magna Cum Laude from Tyler Junior College, underscoring her dedication to excellence.
Robin's career, notably as Vice-President at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas, where she has resided since 1992, has been marked by her commitment to community service. This commitment is further demonstrated through her involvement with the Lindale Chamber of Commerce and various local causes.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Robin's family are the heart of her life. Under Robin's guidance, Birdsong Cremations continues to thrive, providing compassionate and dignified care to families in their times of need.
